Round 3

Round 3 v Heatherdale

After the first week was rained-out, the U/12As came back to Simpsons Park to play Heatherdale for a 25 over match.

Brant finally won the toss and elected to bat first. Muzz (Josh) stepped up to open with Conner N. At three was Nick who retired at 20 followed by Sizz (Sam) at 4 and Zach at 5 (all batted well).

K Hub (Kieren), Knuckles (Liam), Ben, Jack, Richo and Brant chipped in at the end to bring the final total up to 7/65.

Conner N and Muzzalso opened the bowling. Zach was at first change followed by Brant, Nick and Ben.

Our first wicket was a top catch by Conner D.Cfrom a hard-hit ball. Josh Murray took catch of the season at slip off a high edge to his left off K-Hub. Connor D.C followed up later on with another one handed screamer.

K Hub, Richo, Conner D.C and Knuckles all did their part each bowling good line and length.

Jack and Sizz bowled four of the last five overs before Conner N was brought back on for the last over. We had already lost the match so the boys thought that it was suitable for three slips and a leg slip for that last over. It almost worked with slight edge but didn’t quite make the distance.

Heatherdale finished the day on 5/80 just getting the runs and beating us by 5 wickets.

We played really well at stages and just needed to be a bit more consistent although I’m positive we willbe ablecome out on top next time we play them.

I’m sure we will redeem ourselves against Vermontnext week at home.
