The Blackburn Cricket Club would like to congratulate all of our juniors who tried and trained out for the Box Hill Reporter District Cricket Association representatives teams in their respective age groups. With age squads starting at over 50 players it was a momentous task to stand out and be noticed, but as all Blackburn players are classy, quality, committed and happy players, everyone new who wore the Red & Black on Saturdays.

Unfortunately, like all try outs, not everyone can make the team. For those who missed out, you did yourself, mum, dad and the Club PROUD. Keep your head up and keep working hard, let the disappointment turn into hunger and come back flying in the second half of the season. That's what we call the Burner Spirit.

Matt Drysdale, Callum Haughey, Liam Patterson, Andrew Harrison, James Guley and Kyle Rayner.

Fantastic effort fellas, all the best and enjoy your cricket.

Callum (U16) and Kyle (U12) were also named captains of the teams, a great reflection on their ability as players, teammates and leaders.

These boys will now go on and represent BHRDCA in the Keith Mackay (U16), Russell Allen (U14) and Keith Mitchell (U12) Shields in the Victorian Metropolitan Cricket Union Junior Carnival.

The carnival runs from the 4th to the 16th of January 2011, with a minimum of 5 games and 8 if you make the Grand Final, it really is a fun filled cricket Carnival for all involved, so if you have the time through the holidays get along and support the boys and your teammates.
