Players Training & Meeting

Dear Players & Members

As the season fast approaches indoor training is into its 4th week and our first senior outdoor training session will be held next Sunday, 29th August at Blackburn from 10am – 12noon. Following training we will be having a players meeting and BBQ lunch.

The session will include a net session, fielding & catching drills, match related fitness training, and a 3km time trial around Blackburn Lake.

The meeting following training will entail senior coach Benn Taplin addressing our players to discuss his and Blackburn’s objectives for the season, player and Club expectations and individual expectations.

Tom Cullen will also be discussing our Senior Players Charter, something that the Committee developed some time ago and revised at a recent planning day to reflect our club philosophy and culture. We believe this is extremely essential to both our players and our Club as it communicates the expectations our club has for our players and in turn what our players should expect from our club.

This gathering is an opportunity for players, parents and supporters to share thoughts, ask questions and contribute to the vision Benn and our Club have as we prepare for our 2010/2011.

It is essential that all senior players attend this training session and meeting, and we also extend this invitation to players in our Under 16 teams, their parents and members of our club. Blackburn Cricket Club has placed great emphasis and pride in nurturing our young players and we believe it is important for them to be part of our Clubs long term vision. Just as important is for our members and supporters to also share the vision of our Club and we would welcome their attendance.

We look forward to seeing you next Sunday.
