Junior Registration

 Dear Blackburn Family,

Welcome to the dawn of the new cricket season! Whilst it is still the middle of winter, planning for the coming 2010-11 season is well under way. Once again the club will field sides in the under 10, 12, 14 and 16 competitions and this season is introducing the club's inaugural under 18 cricket side. At this early stage we are anticipating 14 junior cricket teams in total. In addition, the important MILO In2Cricket program will continue to run on Friday evenings for 5 to 9 year olds.

Season Ahead

In the coming season the Blackburn Cricket Club is aiming to;

1/ Continue its strong focus on the quality of cricket and player development.

2/ Further establish the club as a great environment for families to participate in the local community and enjoy the sport of cricket.

On the cricket side, we have been fortunate to enlist the services of Bryan Reid to the new position of Junior Coaching Co-Coordinator. Bryan brings a wealth of cricket and coaching experience to our ranks with his brief being the support and development our junior coaches and players.

Parental Involvement

With the continued growth of the club and anticipated 14 teams, parental involvement will be even more critical in the coming season.  Aside from the informal Saturday morning jobs, we need parents to volunteer for both Team Coach and Team Manager Roles.  If you are interested in taking an active role this coming season please contact me ASAP – Without your help we cannot make the season work!!

There will be more updates in the coming weeks so, again welcome to the new season, please take the time to read and complete the attached information and I look forward to seeing you at registration day.
