Round 5 vs Vermont

This week’s very disappointing performance has been coming for a while. The coaches saw it coming but I doubt the players were aware.

Our boys were winning games so all was good to them.

A couple of recent Match Reviews have mentioned that we weren’t totally switched on.

We managed to win those games but today our lack of commitment was totally exposed.

Vermont is a very good team but our effort today (and last week) was unacceptable. And that effort stems from very ordinary training sessions on a Wednesday night.

But let’s finish on a more positive note.

Harry Date made 22 last week on a day which unfortunately didn’t count. This week he made 16 out of our total of 43 and batted beautifully.

He has also made the U15 Hatch Shield team (representative level) as a bottom aged player and is our best performer this year with bat and ball.

He also trains exceptionally well and his improvement stems from this dedication.

Congratulations Harry. Hopefully on Wednesday we’ll see all players training as hard as you do.
