Round 6
In overcast conditions again our game much to the angst of Buleen Templestowe and I mean angst was changed to a one day game. Dave again won the toss and we batted. Franky opened with for the first time Jimmy on the request of Tappa’s. After a slow start we only had 29 runs after ten overs. Franky was first out in the eighth over for 4.
I asked next batsman Jenkin to up the ante and he batted superbly and made a brisk 26 and the score was 65 after 15 overs. Crano went out for a slow but very good 25 in humid conditions but really toughed it out. I’d say just what Judgey and Tappa’s wanted. Fultz and Dryzy with not much time batted really well and there was hardly a ball missed and both played a handy team knock. After our 20 overs we were all out for 92. Not enough but as they say runs on the board.
We opened with new prized recruit Dylan and Franky, both bowled well but with dropped catches the openers got away and after ten overs had 54 runs compared to our 29. We used eight bowlers who all bowled well with only four wides which was pleasing. The highlight was seeing Dryzy getting a wicket and the keeping from Fultz and as he reminded me on the way home NO BYES DAD!!!. BTCC passed our score in the 17th over and ended with Dryzy bowling a superb outswinger that completely fooled the batsman and who then edged it to the keeper.
Thanks to Judgey and Yeoy coming down to support the boys. If any U/16’s or U/14’s want to play the last two day game starting this Friday please email me as we will be VERY short of players for this game This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Also the game was played in great spirit by both teams.
