2010 AGM
Dear Blackburn Cricket Club Member
Blackburn enjoyed a very successful year in season 2009/2010 with 2 senior sides and 4 junior sides playing off in finals, with our Under 16A and 14A winning the Premiership. As the Club continues to go from strength to strength and to expand on the success we have had, it is essential that we have a committed group of people to oversee the operations of the Club.
· Some of the tasks required to be filled can even be administered from your home computer. Ideal for people who don’t work full time, or cannot commit to being at the club each week.
· Running a club is similar to running a small business, so it is also an excellent opportunity for students studying business studies to get firsthand experience and exposure to the operation.
· The more people we have on the committee means the tasks get widely shared by everyone.
· There are many different roles people can undertake in order for this to happen, some of them do not necessarily mean you have to be a committee member.
The current committee has many people who have served the club for the past 10-15 years and have decided to step down to ensure the Club gives the opportunity for others to step up. New people on board ensures new ideas and the potential for continuous improvement.
We ask that every person give strong consideration to how you can help your club for next season. Here is just a sample of some of the areas you may be able assist in for 2010/2011.
Equipment (cricket kits, training kits etc)– (2 people) Stocktake of equipment, advise committee of what is required pre season, monitor equipment during season.
Milo In-2-Cricket – Last year we had 105 registered participants. Regan Kunst and Ronnie Slight did a fantastic job each Friday night – perhaps you could assist them for 1-2 hours on a Friday night setting up or running one of the training stations on the ground.
Cleaning Rosters – Arrange a fair roster system during the season to ensure the clubrooms and change rooms are cleaned each week.
Bar Manager (including a roster for Thursday nights)
Canteen Manager– purchase of stock for canteen (Campbell’s Cash & Carry Ringwood). This can be done any time during the week that suits you, and arrange a roster for each Saturday to man the canteen.
Merchandise – ordering and monitoring stock levels of club merchandise (shirts, shorts, caps, jackets etc).
Social – arranging a few social events throughout the season for everyone to enjoy.
We hope to see as many of our members at the AGM, in the meantime if there are any questions you may have about joining the committee or assisting the club for 2010/2011 please contact any of the people below and we will gladly assist you:-
