Congratulations to our senior 2^nd and 3^rd Eleven and our Under 14A

teams on winning last weekends semi-finals to secure a place in the

2008/2009 Grand Final.  The Grand Final is next Saturday 14^th March,

and the following Saturday 21^st March (Sunday’s are reserve days

if required).

For those of you who have not yet seen the results, they were:-

Shield 2

Blackburn 183 (P. Brookes 49) defeated Bulleen Templestowe 91 (R. Kunst 4/17).

B1

Blackburn 266 (K. Dwyer 71, W. Roberts 60, M. Rose 50) defeated Blackburn South 106 (I. Rayner 4/29).

Under 14A

Blackburn 6/86 defeated Park Orchards 82 (K. Rayner 3/8, J. Kilbride 3/11)

Unfortunately, our Under 16A’s, U16’B’s, Under 14B’s and Under 12A’s were unable to finish off their season with a win, however we are sure they enjoyed the experience of playing in a finals atmosphere, well done to all the players on reaching the finals.

We have been notified TODAY of the venue for each of the Grand Finals, they are:-

Shield 2 versus Vermont at BLACKBURN (TOP OVAL)

B1 versus Vermont South at TERRARA PARK WEST, Terrara Road, Vermont South, MEL 62 J7

Under 14A versus Vermont at BLACKBURN (TOP OVAL)

Please come along over the next 2 Saturday’s and give the teams your support, help get them over the line to hopefully celebrate some Blackburn Premierships. Blackburn is also hosting the Senior One Day C Grade Grand Final on Saturday.

Presentation Night (Seniors)

A reminder to our players, members and supporters that Presentation Night is being held on Friday 27^th March in

the Clubrooms. The cost is $25 per head (all inclusive).

· Players, please advise your captain before 19^th March of your attendance (including your partner),

· Member, please either contact Lachlan Head on 0400 800 946, reply by return email to Lisa Robertson, or write your name on the list on the Bar within the Club.  Please rsvp by 19^th March also.

We have to confirm final numbers to the caterer 1 week before the function.

Junior Presentation Day

A reminder that junior Presentation Day is being held on Saturday 28^th March from

10.30 am –12.30 pm at the Clubrooms with a BBQ lunch and soft drinks provided.
