BCC Raffle, Christmas party and Senior Training‏

E-mail Print PDF

Dear All

Thank you to all of our junior and senior teams and Blackburn members for their support with our Major Raffle which was drawn on Saturday at the Christmas Party.  The Club raised approximately $1,500 through the efforts of many people.  A big thank you to junior Team Managers and Eddie Lee for their follow up in getting the tickets and money back – well done everyone.

We are delighted to announce our winners who hopefully can enjoy Christmas even more now:-

1st Prize – Matthew Tait

2nd Prize – Mick McCoy

3rd Prize – Scott Fulton

We also had a $150 prize for the person who sold the most tickets, and after selling a massive $160 worth of tickets, Matthew Tait had a well deserved “double win”, a great effort Matt, congratulations.

Last Saturday night saw the Blackburn contingent gather for the Family Christmas Party and despite the weather looking ominous, a great night was had by all.  The feedback from the parents we spoke to were glowing in their praise of the night.  It was great to see so many kids around the club enjoying the night, and this is a function the Club is especially keen for to grow each year.

This was a joint effort by many of the committee members, and it was really pleasing to see each of them put in on Saturday night to get the many “little jobs” done, and to Turk and Ian for their culinary skills with the BBQ cooking. Thanks also to those who helped with the canteen and cleaning on they day so that we could concentrate on setting up on the Christmas Party – A REAL CLUB EFFORT.

Senior Players – Training this Thursday

Grant Coller will be attending training on Thursday to do some coaching and we encourage all players to attend to make the most of this opportunity. You will certainly benefit from the experience.

We wish all of our teams the best for the final round of cricket for 2008 and hope every member has a safe Christmas and enjoys a well earned break, ready to fire back in 2009 ready to begin the second half of the season, striving for a finals berth.

Regards

Tom Cullen & Lisa Robertson

Dear Players & Members

A reminder that the Christmas Raffle will be drawn this Saturday at the Christmas Party.

We are still waiting for many players to return their tickets and request that you bring the money and raffle butts back to the Club this Thursday (4th

December) and hand them to Lisa.

This is our major fundraising event for the year, and without everyone’s support it will be extremely difficult to raise the money we anticipated.

The Christmas Party kicks off on the bottom oval at 7pm this Saturday.  Please remember to bring along a chair or rug.  Hope to see you there.

The NEW cost of the party is $15 per family or $5 per single

FEATURING –

BBQ dinner (7pm-8pm)

Jumping castle (from 7.00pm)

Clown for the kids (7.30-8.30pm)

Santa Claus (with lollies) (8.45pm)

Can of softdrink for the kids

Kind Regards

Tom Cullen and Lisa Robertson
